Awardees will be asked to help judge graduate student presentations and/or showcase physiological methods they use in their classes. The goal of this grant is to initiate discussion and interaction among local teachers, university graduate students and faculty. AZPS hopes to better integrate high schools and universities as well as to establish contact between HS teachers and faculty to facilitate student “senior projects” where HS students spend time in a university laboratory.

High school teachers are strongly encouraged to share innovative or hands-on ideas for teaching on various topics in physiology in a poster or oral presentation.

In your application (400 words), please indicate your interest in participating in the AZPS annual meeting, collaborating with university labs for potential student senior projects, and ideas/examples for implementation of hands-on teaching of topics in physiology.

Application due date and Notification of award decision: September 1st

Please send your 400 word application to Tobias Riede, Secretary-Treasurer AZPS, (

If you have questions, please contact any of the current AZPS officers.
